Friends & Inspiration
Just a few of our local raqstars:
IGNITION Fire Troupe www.ignitionfire.net or www.myspace.com/ignitionfire
I love these kids! They are friends of mine, they’re very talented, professional performers, they’re hot as hell, and always give a fantastic show! Check out their calendar for upcoming shows.
Katrina Ablola (aka Kat, aka Katana) What can I say about Kat? She’s my bestie, she’s an amazing, inspiring woman, and she’s an awesome dancer!
Angela Silling: http://www.facebook.com/angela.silling Also one of the best people I know… So amazing and wonderful… And I LOVE to watch her dance!!
Katrina Hellbusch: www.skindeepstudios.com This woman has been a huge supporter of mine and has boosted my dance career by inviting me to teach at her studio and for just believing in me and my work! Love Katrina!!
The TriBellas: www.myspace.com/tribellas These ladies are badass!!
CopperClock: www.copperclockdances.com These ladies are probably my favorite dance duo out there right now. They are limitless in their talent and abounding cuteness everywhere they go!
Zanbaka: www.zanbaka.com My first teacher, and an inspiration to many. She has moved almost entirely to flamenco, and is rocking every stage she walks onto!
Tayissa Blue: www.tayissablue.com www.twilight.com
Tayissa has also been a huge well of support and encouragement to me since I started dancing. Her faith in me, booking me for shows and just being her kind self, has been a great help to me!
Raqs Steady Eddie: www.myspace.com/edwinmv Eddie is NOT a male belly dancer… BUT he does use alot of belly dance bits in his performances. Mixing martial arts, belly dance and hip hop, he has created his own unique style and flavor and is loved by everyone and anyone who sees him rock a stage. Also, he’s my buddy and I loves him.

Troupe Hipnotica: www.troupehipnotica.com I love these ladies!! They took ATS and made it funky! They use traditional ATS movement as well as their own blend of sass and attitude, and created their own signature style. They are always fun to watch, and they’re just a bunch of badass women whom I adore. I was honored to be included in their ‘Cues & Tattoos’ belly dance festival this year, which they created and host, and hope to work with them again in the future!
Renee Drellishak: http://people.tribe.net/d89fd2b0-b27d-41ca-b890-57d645b572f8
Renee and Sharon Moore are pioneers in Tribal bellydance in the Seattle scene. They have together and seperately helped perpetuate the ATS movement and kept it alive for many years. They are both super amazing, accomplished and knowledgeable and I have so much mad respect for them!!
The list could go on and on! There are so many amazing dancers around here! I’ll keep adding to my list as I meet and work with more dancers in the area!
